How to Masturbate: General Tips for Everyone

PDF downloadDownload Article5. Step 1 Set aside quality time for yourself and create some ambiance.1Set aside quality time for yourself and create some ambiance. Think of masturbating as a form of sexual self-care and schedule some uninterrupted downtime to enjoy and explore your body. To help you get in the mood, try dimming the lights, lighting a candle, putting on sexy or relaxing music, or wearing something that makes you feel hot and aroused, like lingerie or a jockstrap. Everybody sets the scene differently, so do what gets you in the right mindset to play.1XResearch source

  • Some people think of masturbating as just a quick or impulsive ritual you do just to “get it over with” or relieve tension, but it doesn’t have to be just that!
  1. Step 2 Explore your sexual fantasies (with or without porn).2Explore your sexual fantasies (with or without porn). Masturbating can also be a time to let your mind wander and imagine scenarios that turn you on and make you feel sexy. A lot of people use porn for that, and it can be a great tool to explore new kinks and or sexual acts you want to try. However, porn is super visual and doesn’t leave much to the imagination after a few minutes, so consider only using it sometimes, or starting with porn and then turning it off once you find your groove.
  • You can visualize different fantasies in your mind as an alternative, or try reading erotic fiction, looking at still images, or using audio-only porn.

  • When you do use porn, consider paying for it instead of searching all over the web for free videos. Porn actors don’t work for free, so it’s considered more ethical to subscribe or purchase their work.

  • Porn is perfectly safe and healthy in moderation and can even enhance your sex life when you watch it with a partner. However, using too often might make it harder to get aroused without it for some people. If you think you’re watching too much, consider cutting back or talking to a counselor to help you get frisky without it.2XResearch source

  1. Step 3 Give your erogenous zones some attention.3Give your erogenous zones some attention. Erogenous zones are areas of your body that are sensitive to touch and make you feel sexually aroused. Some common places people enjoy being touched (that aren’t their genitals) are the lips, nipples, anus, and perineum (also known as the taint, or the area between your genitals and anus), but everyone’s different.3XResearch source
  • For example, some might get aroused when their feet are rubbed, when their inner thigh is stroked, or when their earlobes get nibbled.

  • Try rubbing, pinching, or gently stroking these areas with your fingers or a sex toy. Take your time, explore different pressures and patterns, and enjoy yourself!

  1. Step 4 Use a quality lube (and be generous with it).4Use a quality lube (and be generous with it). Whether you’re inserting a toy into your anus or vagina or even just using your hands and fingers, lube lowers friction, makes things more comfortable, and prevents small tears in your skin that can be irritating or painful.4XResearch source So, invest in a tube or bottle of lube and don’t be stingy with it! The two main types of lube are:
  • Silicone-based: Best for long-lasting play, anal play, and staying lubricated in the shower. It’s thicker and slicker than water-based lube, but can stain fabric. Silicone lube cannot be used on toys also made of silicone.

  • Water-based: Best for quick sex or masturbation sessions, use on porous or silicone toys, easy cleanup, or when you don’t plan to use it in the shower. Water-based lube is lighter than silicone lube, but doesn’t last as long.

  1. Step 5 Experiment with edging.5Experiment with edging. Edging is when you bring yourself close to climax, ejaculation, or orgasm, then stop or slow the stimulation to delay the big finale and make it more intense when you finally let yourself have it. Some people edge for a few minutes, while others choose to do it for hours (often as part of an edging kink).5XResearch source Edging isn’t for everyone, but trying it out a few times can help you learn more about what it takes to make you climax, extend your sexual stamina, and learn where your personal “point of no return” is.
  2. Step 6 Clean your toys before and after using them (especially if you’re sharing).6Clean your toys before and after using them (especially if you’re sharing). Check the instructions on the package for your toys, since they might vary based on what they’re made of or whether they’re water-proof. When toys go uncleaned (especially the kind you put inside), they can collect bacteria and cause an infection the next time you use them. You can also slide a condom over the toy for the safest way to protect it.6XResearch source
  • If you’re passing your toy between different openings (anus to vagina, for example), change the condom in between to prevent spreading bacteria from one opening to the next.

  • It’s not recommended to share sex toys with partners, but if you choose to, always clean them between partners or change the condom around them to prevent STIs.

  • It’s also recommended to wash your hands before touching your genitals or anus. AdvertisementSection 2 of 7:

Increasing Pleasure for People with Vaginas

PDF downloadDownload Article15. Step 1 Feel empowered to explore your anatomy, even if you don’t know all the terminology.1Feel empowered to explore your anatomy, even if you don’t know all the terminology. Depending on your sex ed experience, you may not be totally sure what every part down there is called, but that’s OK. Start exploring any way to see what things feel like—if it feels good, keep going! It’s better to get to know your own body than to worry about terminology or anatomy charts.7XResearch source Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • The vulva is the outer part of your genitals that includes the clitoris, the labia lips, the urethra, and the almond-shaped opening to the vagina.

  • The clitoris is a very sensitive button-like area near the top of the vulva that provides intense pleasure. It’s the only organ in the body whose only purpose is to feel good!

  • The vagina is the muscle that opens and closes between the cervix (the base of the uterus) and the outside opening.

  1. Step 2 Use your fingers to caress and stimulate your vulva, clitoris, and vagina.2Use your fingers to caress and stimulate your vulva, clitoris, and vagina. Gently rub, squeeze, or pinch the outer parts of your genitals like the labia lips, the clitoris, or any area that feels good to you. There’s no right or wrong way to do it and it’s totally up to your preference. Try rubbing in different directions, in circles, applying different pressures, and trying out different speeds. Whatever feels right is right!8XResearch source
  • If you’re new to masturbating, you may be surprised by some of the feelings you experience. Take breaks if you need to and most importantly, take your time learning about your body and all the different ways it can feel good.

  • Once you’re feeling relaxed, aroused, and ready to go further, try sliding a finger or a toy, like a vibrator or dildo, into your vagina for new and deeper sensations.

  • Some people get off on purely clitoral stimulation, while others prefer a combo of the clitoris and vaginal play. Experiment with both to see what works for you.

  • It’s true that some women also enjoy anal stimulation as well, either from insertion or touching the outside of the anus.9XTrustworthy SourcePubMed CentralJournal archive from the U.S. National Institutes of HealthGo to source Feel free to explore this area with your fingers or toys as well (just take it slow if you’re new to it, and use lots of lube).

  1. Step 3 Stimulate your A-spot with a toy for a deep, cervix-focused orgasm.3Stimulate your A-spot with a toy for a deep, cervix-focused orgasm. You may have heard of the G-spot before—a sensitive and elusive area along your vaginal wall that’s part of the clitoral network—but have you heard about the A-spot? The anterior fornix erogenous zone (A-spot) is a sensitive area about 2 inches (5 cm) deeper than the G-spot, making it hard to reach with the fingers alone.10XResearch source That’s why you should try a toy specially designed to stimulate it, like the LELO ENIGMA™ Double Sonic, A-spot vibrator.
  • The ENIGMA™ Double Sonic leads to intense vaginal orgasms by stimulating a large surface area and sending sonic waves right to the A-spot, leading to new heights of pleasure (especially if you haven’t experienced a deep, vaginal orgasm before).

  • The sonic tip sits on top of a curved tail designed to fit comfortably with diverse anatomies, and can also stimulate the clitoris without directly touching it. The ENIGMA™ also connects to an app, giving you more mode options and control over how it feels.

  • Click this link to explore LELO’s range and discover more about the A-spot, G-spot, and the ENIGMA Double Sonic!

  1. Step 4 Stroke the G-spot with your fingers in a “come hither” motion.4Stroke the G-spot with your fingers in a “come hither” motion. The G-spot is an erogenous zone on the anterior wall of the vagina (if you were lying down, that’s the side on top) about an inch (2.5 cm) inside the vagina. It may feel raised or slightly bumpy, and people experience varying degrees of pleasure there based on their anatomy.11XResearch source Stroking this area with your fingers in a “come hither” motion can feel incredible and is a great way to explore what feels good for your unique body (and it can lead to intense orgasms, too!). But what if there was a toy that could do all that for you? Introducing the LELO Soraya Wave, rabbit vibrator.
  • The Soraya Wave is a rabbit vibrator with a sculpted tip that surges in that oh-so-good “come hither” motion. It has a flexible outer arm that stimulates your clitoris at the same time—a win-win!

  • It’s made of extra soft, smooth, and hygienic silicone and is fully waterproof, meaning you can explore and play in the shower, bath, or wherever you’re comfortable.

  • The Soraya Wave uses patented WaveMotion technology to rise and fall with you for a personalized, intense, toe-curling experience. If you’re ready to take your pleasure in your own hands, check out Soraya Wave and learn about all that it offers.

  1. Step 5 Pay extra attention to your clitoris with your fingers or a toy.5Pay extra attention to your clitoris with your fingers or a toy. As we mentioned, the clitoris is all about pleasure and is filled with more than 10,000 nerve endings that make it feel extra sensitive and activated.12XResearch source Many people with clitorises need or prefer some stimulation there to climax, so give that area some love! You can rub, pinch, or squeeze the exposed part at the top of the vulva with your own fingers, or use a special toy to target the deeper portions of the clitoris, like the LELO SONA 2 Cruise, clitoral massager.
  • The SONA 2 uses sonic pulses (not regular old vibrations) to stimulate the deepest parts of the clitoris, almost like a deep-tissue massage. The pulses build and build until climax, making for a deeply satisfying orgasm.

  • It has a softer, deeper, and bigger mouth than other clitoral massagers for extra comfort and pleasure and has 12 vibration settings so you can find the exact pulse and intensity that feels just right for you.

  • Plus, it doesn’t have to come into direct contact with your clitoris to be effective, meaning you can play for hours and hours without discomfort (remember that edging thing we mentioned earlier?). Click here to get the full scoop on the SONA 2 Cruise and enjoy your pleasure on your terms. AdvertisementSection 3 of 7:

Increasing Pleasure for People with Penises

PDF downloadDownload Article24. Step 1 Experiment with different grips and speeds.1Experiment with different grips and speeds. For most men and people with penises, basic masturbation includes grabbing the penis and sliding your hand up and down the shaft. It’s simple, but there’s a lot of variation you can have. Try grabbing with your right hand, your left hand, or both; experiment with different grip pressures; or change up the speed, alternating between slow and fast strokes and everything in between.13XResearch source

  • Variety is the name of the game. If you get desensitized to one grip or speed, switch it up to experience new sensations.

  • Changing things up can also make you more flexible when it comes to achieving an orgasm during partnered sex.

  • Some prefer to masturbate this way without lube if they’re uncircumcised and have enough foreskin to glide along the shaft comfortably. Circumcised people often use lube to glide more easily along the shaft since the skin may not be as loose.

  1. Step 2 Tease the tip of your penis (the glans) and your scrotum, too.2Tease the tip of your penis (the glans) and your scrotum, too. The shaft isn’t the only area that provides pleasure. The head of the penis has about 4,000 nerve endings that make it very sensitive and enjoyable to touch, while the scrotum and frenulum (the skin flap on the underside of the penis) are also erogenous for many.14XResearch source Extend your stroke to cover the glans, and play around with rubbing, pinching, or squeezing the scrotum and frenulum as well.
  • Some also enjoy lightly squeezing or pulling on the testicles themselves, too. Feel free to play around with that, but stop if you feel pain or are worried about injuring yourself.
  1. Step 3 Test out vibrating toys, sleeves, and more.3Test out vibrating toys, sleeves, and more. For new sensations, try out a vibrating cock ring (or just a regular one). You can position it anywhere on your penis or slide it up and down for arousing new feelings. You can also try out a sleeve (a cylindrical toy usually with a textured silicone lining you insert your penis into); hold it in your hand and slide it up and down, or lay it down and thrust into it with your hips for a change in position.15XTrustworthy SourceGo Ask AliceMedical advice site with content written by health promotion specialists affiliated with Columbia UniversityGo to source
  • Placing vibrating toys against your perineum, frenulum, anus, testicles, and other areas can also be arousing—it’s not all about the shaft and glans.
  1. Step 4 Try stimulating your prostate if you’re up for a new experience.4Try stimulating your prostate if you’re up for a new experience. The prostate is a walnut-shaped gland about 2–3 inches (5 to 7.6 cm) inside your rectum. Some compare it to a lady’s G-spot and affectionately call it the P-spot. To stimulate it, you can massage it with a finger (take your time, stay relaxed, and use plenty of lube, especially if you’re new to anal play), or use a prostate massager (a short, vibrating toy with a bulbed head that rubs or presses on the prostate).16XResearch source
  • Stimulating the prostate can produce very intense, powerful orgasms—stronger than a regular penis orgasm for many people.

  • When entering the anus for the first time, take it slow. Try caressing the outer areas first and getting into a relaxed, comfortable position before inserting anything up there.

  • Always use a toy with a flared base for anal play so it doesn’t get “lost” (we’ll just leave it at that).

  • Some people can even experience purely prostate orgasms without having an erection or ejaculating.17XResearch source

  • Did you know? Frequent ejaculation is linked to a lowered risk of developing prostate cancer later in life.18XTrustworthy SourceHarvard Medical SchoolHarvard Medical School’s Educational Site for the PublicGo to source AdvertisementSection 4 of 7:

How normal is masturbation?

PDF downloadDownload Article32. Step 1 Masturbation is super normal—at least 84% of Americans do it!1Masturbation is super normal—at least 84% of Americans do it! About 91% of folks who identify as men and 78% of those who identify as women masturbate (with varying frequencies depending on factors like age, sex drive, etc.). It’s possible that even more women and folks assigned female at birth (AFAB) engage in “me time” than surveys say because of the Sexual Double Standard (SDS), or a research term for how women tend to be judged more harshly than men for the same sexual acts.19XTrustworthy SourceGo Ask AliceMedical advice site with content written by health promotion specialists affiliated with Columbia UniversityGo to source

  • This means that women-identifying people may feel less comfortable opening up about their self-pleasure habits out of fear of judgment.

  • Other factors like religious beliefs or just feeling very private about masturbation may also hold people of any gender back from discussing their habits openly.

  • Some people feel guilt or shame about masturbating for various reasons. If that sounds like you, remember that most people do it and consider seeing a counselor or therapist to help you feel more positively about it.20XResearch source

  1. Step 2 People learn how to masturbate for a lot of reasons.2People learn how to masturbate for a lot of reasons. There’s no one “right” reason to do it, but for many, it seems like simple sexual pleasure is motivation enough. However, everybody’s body, needs, and circumstances are different. Some other reasons people masturbate could include:21XResearch source
  • To relax

  • To explore and understand their body better

  • To release sexual tension

  • To experience sexual pleasure when their partner isn’t available

  • To experience sexual pleasure without the risk of pregnancy or getting a sexually transmitted infection (STI)

  • To work through a sexual issue or dysfunction per a sex therapist’s orders (like premature ejaculating in people with penises or trouble having an orgasm in people with vaginas) AdvertisementSection 5 of 7:

The Benefits of Masturbation

PDF downloadDownload Article38. Step 1 Masturbation has many physical, mental, and sexual health benefits.1Masturbation has many physical, mental, and sexual health benefits. 1. Step 2 There are also a lot of myths about the “dangers” of masturbating.2There are also a lot of myths about the “dangers” of masturbating. There’s plenty of misinformation out there about sex and masturbation meant to scare you away from it or make you think it’s wrong, bad, or immoral (rumors like “it uses up all your orgasms” or “it’ll stunt your growth”). Fortunately, you can rest assured knowing that these myths are not at all true! Some other totally false claims about masturbating include things like:24XTrustworthy SourceCleveland ClinicEducational website from one of the world’s leading hospitalsGo to source

Can you masturbate too much?

Some people masturbate daily (sometimes more than once a day), some only do it now and then, and some never do it at all. These are all perfectly normal and healthy amounts, and how much you masturbate is totally up to your preferences and needs. The only time masturbation becomes an issue is if it’s interfering with your job, social life, relationship, or other responsibilities.25XResearch source

Can you masturbate if you’re in a relationship?

PDF downloadDownload Article49. Absolutely—masturbation can even improve your sex life together!Absolutely—masturbation can even improve your sex life together! Sex with a partner and masturbation are totally different things, and pleasuring yourself doesn’t mean your partner is lacking or doing something wrong. Masturbating is actually a great way to learn what feels good to you (and what doesn’t) so you can tell your partner about your preferences. This means no guesswork for them and more pleasure for you!26XResearch source

  • Talking honestly and openly about sex can make it more fun and make your relationship stronger, too.

  • Some sexual partners do mutual masturbation together (masturbating at the same time). This is a great way to be erotic and intimate without the risk of pregnancy or STIs. Advertisement

Dogs needing a home - Last Chance Animal Rescue - a charity to rescue animals

To avoid disappointment, if you are interested in a particular dog mentioned on this page, please check that it is available before visiting us. If you require further advice on any of our dogs, our staff are always ready to help. Use the Contact Us form to send us a message, letting us know where the dog is at New Romney or Edenbridge. Click on an image for an image gallery of all images Gender/Age: Female 22 mthsBreed: American Staff x Colour: Black & whiteLocation: New Romney Our wonderful Shadow came to us from the Welsh pound at approximately 9 months old. We have no history but learned quickly she was very fearful of the world! During her time here, we found Shadow to be extremely loyal, super intelligent and a big massive goof! She loves the water, climbing (hikes would be a dream for Shadow) and taking up all of the room on the bed. We had Shadow live with a staff member and learnt that she is very good in a home environment, it took some time but she is not destructive and will snooze the day away until someone is home. Shadow gets along with most dogs so could definitely live with another dog. Shadow can NOT live with cats or small furries as she has a high prey drive. Preferably a quiet household as Shadow needs time to learn to trust people before she can fully relax and be herself - she us always on guard when she meets new people.. A little like me! No Children and training is essential! For any more information do NOT hesitate to contact. Shadow will make the best companion. Gender/Age: Male, 3 yearsBreed: Pug x BeagleColour: BlackLocation: New Romney Little Bean came to us from another rescue and cannot wait to find his forever home. He can be a little unsure at first but once he knows you, loves a good fuss and playing with a squeaky toy. He isn’t overly interested in other dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in the home. If you would like to know more about Bean, or offer him the home he dreams of, please pop in to meet him during our opening hours, or phone for more information. Gender/Age: Female & Male 4yrsBreed: Spaniel x LurcherColour: Merle, Black & WhiteLocation: Edenbridge Ivy and Mush are a lovely brother and sister duo who are looking for a home together. They have come into us due to a change in their owners circumstances. They are a very affectionate pair who enjoy going on long walks and runs. They love playing with toys, especially tennis balls and footballs! Mush and Ivy are looking for an active home who can provide them with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. They will need a garden of their own where they can run off lead and play freely in. Good with other dogs. Both are housetrained. Gender/Age: Male 2yrsBreed: Old English BulldogColour: Whaite & TanLocation: New Romney Reggie is incredibly friendly and affectionate. He’s never been aggressive to people or dogs, but he can be a bit too loving at times. Reggie adores people and loves to get as close as possible to them. As his eyesight and hearing are impaired touch and smell are his main senses, so he needs to be approached slowly to avoid getting scared. If you’re sitting down, Reggie will happily climb onto your lap. If he gets a chance, he’ll even climb up onto the back of your neck. Reggie loves cuddles and playtime, especially fetch with a ball. Reggie doesn’t like being alone for too long. He’s good at night, but he’ll occasionally bark and need reassurance if he sees a shadow he doesn’t like. He’s scared of the dark. Reggie also doesn’t like the rain! Sometimes, Reggie can get a bit carried away with playtime and nips. But it’s all playful behaviour, and he just needs to be calmed down. Reggie will make a great companion for someone who has the time for him. He can be strong on the lead, but once he gets going, he’s such a good boy Gender/Age: Male 8yrsBreed: Beagle x FoxhoundColour: Tri ColourLocation: Edenbridge Roscoe has sadly had a rather unsettled life so far. Roscoe is a lovely boy who can be a little nervous at first but once he knows you he is a lovely boy who enjoys a gentle fuss and a cuddle. Roscoe loves his long walks and will need an active family home who can provide him with lots of mental and physical stimulation. He enjoys a snuffle mat filled with beef treats. Roscoe can be picky over which dogs he likes so would need to be the only pet in the home. He is housetrained. Please come down if you feel Roscoe would be a good fit for you. Gender/Age: Female, 2 yearsBreed: DachshundColour: Brown and TanLocation: New Romney Lovely Rosie came to us due to no fault of her own. She’s a very sweet girl who is finding adjusting to kennel life hard, so has been nervous while meeting new people. Once she’s out on her walk she becomes more confident and outgoing. She needs a home where someone is able to give her time to settle in and adjust to her new surroundings and people, after which she would love to spend her days going for walks and her evenings curled up with her people. Rosie has previously lived with kids but has never lived with or been around cats. Gender/Age: Male 6 yrsBreed: Bulldog x StaffieColour: FawnLocation: Edenbridge Buddy was originally here as a puppy. He went to a new home for a year where he was not walked regularly and barely taken out the house. Therefore Buddy did not get the socializing he needed and developed fear aggression to any new person who entered his and his owners house, seeing them as a threat. So Buddy needs a strict one to one home with someone who has no visitors. Once Buddy knows you he is very affectionate and will bark at you for attention to lie all over you or to try the food you are eating. Buddy loves his food and treats and as he is a very slow walker and sometimes refusing to walk at all he needs a strict diet to help him maintain a healthy weight. Buddy loves his toys and will often throw them around to himself in excitement. His favourite toy is a dog friendly stick, although we have tried to give him more exciting toys he always goes back to his stick. Buddy can not live with any other dogs, cats or small animals. Gender/Age: Female 1yrBreed: Jack Russell Terrier X BeagleColour: Tri ColourLocation: Edenbridge Minnie is a lovely girl who can be very nervous at first. Minnie has come back to us due to the children being too much for her in the home. Because of this Minnie is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children. Minnie is a young, active girl who will need lots of exercise so will need an active owner. Minnie has no recall so cannot be let off lead. Because of this Minnie will need a safe and secure garden of her own hat she can run around and play freely in. Minnie loves to be around her people and if she could she would sit on your lap all day! Gender/Age: Male, 7 yearsBreed: LurcherColour: Red merleLocation: New Romney Lovable Marley came to us through no fault of his own. He is a really lovely boy who is amazing with other dogs and loves being around people. Marley has previously lived with children as young as 5 but cannot live with cats. Gender/Age: Male, 5yrsBreed: BoxerColour: RedLocation: New Romney Archie is a big goofball with lots of love (and slobber!) He is a strong lad who can get very excitable and just loves being around people. Due to his size and over-excitable nature, Archie cannot live with young kids and would be best being the only pet in the property as he can get overly attached to his toys and wont let other dogs near them. Archie is waiting for someone to come in and meet him and if you think you could be his person then please pop into our New Romney branch during our opening hours (weds-sun between 11am and 3pm). Gender/Age: Female, 7 yearsBreed: BoxerColour: RedLocation: New Romney Ruby may look a little grey around the chops but she still has a lot of energy! She is such a sweet girl who can get a bit overexcited when it comes to playing and so would be best in a home with no young kids and being the only pet. Ruby is such a sweetheart who just needs a loving home where she can enjoy short walks and have lots of cuddles on the sofa. Gender/Age: Female 6-8yrsBreed: LurcherColour: BlackLocation: Edenbridge Penny is still finding her feet here in our kennels but is a very happy girl. She is always wagging her tail and wants to say hello to everyone. She would need slow socialising with other dogs and must be the only pet in the home. Penny came in as a stray from the pound so no history is known prior so no young children. She can be energetic but walks nicely on the lead so would need an active owner. Gender/Age: Female 4yrsBreed: GreyhoundColour: BlackLocation: Edenbridge Helen is a very bouncy happy girl who loves everyone she meets. She is very cuddly and affectionate. Helen is an ex racer who is now looking for a new start in a loving family. Due to being an ex racer Helen cannot be rehomed with cats or small furries and will need to be muzzled in public. She is ok with dogs of her size. Helen loves toys especially tennis balls, however she hasn’t learnt to bring them back. Helen is looking for an active home with a garden of her own where she can run freely off lead and have zoomies. Helen gets VERY excited to go for her walks and will jump up at you for cuddles. Helen is looking for a loving home with someone who can give her the love and attention she deserves. Gender/Age: Male, 3yrsBreed: GreyhoundColour: BrindleLocation: New Romney Dizzy Disco is just that, very dizzy! He is an excitable and goofy boy who spins in circles when he’s excited. He loves playing and is happy to go for walks with other dogs. Despite their speed, greyhounds are couch potatoes at heart, Disco’s ideal home would be one where he can go for a few walks a day, has a secure garden for playing and sunbathing, but most importantly, has lots of love. Being an ex-racer, Disco does have a very high prey drive so would not be suited to living with any small animals, he could potentially live with another medium-large sized dog and older children. If you would like to meet this dashing young man, or any of our other fantastic sighthounds, please visit during our opening hours, or call for more information. Gender/Age: Female 2-3 yearsBreed: Lurcher xColour: BrownLocation: New Romney Stella has been with us for a little while now with no applications. While she is nervous to begin with, she comes out of her shell when she can show off just how fast she can run. Unfortunately she has not had the best start in life which has led to her being very nervous of new people, especially men, she is needing a very understanding, and patient home, with people who will teach her that people can be trusted. She can be ok with some dogs, however dislikes others, we believe she would be best suited to a home as the only pet where she can be further socialised around other animals. Due to her nerves she would not be able to live with children. If you think you have the time to help Stella learn to trust, please contact us for further information, or pop in during our opening hours. Gender/Age: Male 8yrsBreed: Collie xColour: Black and TanLocation: Edenbridge Dancer came to us from the Welsh pound so we don’t have much history on him. Due to his breed and behaviour, we believe that he was used as a farm dog. When Dancer knows you he can be very affectionate and jump up for cuddles. Dancer loves to cuddle up to you on the sofa and gently nibble your fingers while getting belly rubs, if you stop stroking him he will paw at you for your attention. Dancer loves to be around you and will follow you everywhere so will need a home where he won’t be left alone for too long. One of Dancers favourite things to do is watch you make dinner in the kitchen in hopes that he could have some too! (He especially loves cheese) Dancer is an active boy who loves his long walks and exploring new places so will need an active owner and a garden of his own to run around and play freely off lead in. Dancer can get protective of his owner when on lead and can nip if anyone approaches him, because of this you will have to keep a distance from others and their dogs and walk in less populated areas. Dancer loves to play ball with you and when alone he loves to play with soft crinkly toys, you will often see him chucking them around in the air and tossing them side to side. Dancer is looking for an adult only home in a rural setting as he is noise phobic so would like a quiet home. He must be the only pet in the home. Dancer will need an understanding and patient owner as he is a very anxious boy who takes time to trust others. Dancer will need multiple visits to our centre with any potential owner to help build a bond. In time, Dancer would make a very affectionate and loyal companion. Please do consider taking Dancer home. Gender/Age: Male 4 yearsBreed: Pointer x Cocker SpanielColour: Black & whiteLocation: New Romney Simon is an excitable and lovely boy who can’t wait to find a new home. He is looking for an active, experienced home, with no other pets or young children, where he will learn lots of new things. Due to some previous bad interactions with other dogs, he will bark at others when on walks, he will be needing further socialising and training to help with this, but a nice quiet walking location would be ideal so he can have stress free walks while training. Typical to his breeds, he has a lot of energy so is looking for a home keen to get out and explore on long walks. He isn’t keen on being disturbed while he sleeps or having his feet touched, due to this he would like a home with no young children who may not understand this. He is incredibly smart and loves to play and will make someone a fantastic companion. If you think you could offer Simon the home he needs, please contact us for more information. Gender/Age: Male 1 yearBreed: Boxer xColour: Black & whiteLocation: New Romney Big Bear sadly came to us as a stray from the pound so no history is known prior to coming to last chance. He is a big strong boy who loves his walks and all the new smells. He is ok with female dogs but would greatly benefit from lots of gentle socialising with other dogs. He is a happy boy and loves his food and treats. He is starting to respond well to training with treats so would need an owner to continue this. As he is a big bouncy boy we recommend an adult only home with a strong owner. Gender/Age: Male 10 yearsBreed: Bichon x JRTColour: WhiteLocation: New Romney This cheeky old boy knows his own mind, he is looking for a very experienced home with no other pets or children. Despite his years he loves his walks and enjoys exploring, he would love a home with a secure garden for him to potter round. Buddy has several behavioural issues which have resulted in him being returned multiple times, he will need a home experienced with troubled, stubborn terriers, if you think you could offer Buddy the home he needs, please contact us to discuss further. Gender/Age: Female, 2-3 yearsBreed: Lurcher xColour: TanLocation: New Romney The loveable Sally came to us from the Welsh pound so we don’t have a history for her. Due to this we cannot rehome her with kids. Sally is dog reactive so she will need some socialising to help with this and will need to be the only pet in the property. Sally can be nervous of new people so may need a couple of regular visits to encourage the cuddlebug we know her to be. If you think you can give this lovely girl her forever home then please pop in to our New Romney centre, during opening hours or phone 01797 366620 to discuss further. Gender/Age: male, 12 yearsBreed: Jack RussellColour: tan and whiteLocation: Edenbridge Cobi has had a troubled life. He originally came to us from the Welsh pound and was soon adopted by a couple who had him for three years. During this time, the man would force Cobi to do things that he did not want to do. He would force Cobi to wear a too-small harness and go out in heavy rain and thunderstorms. Cobi is scared of loud bangs, so this would have absolutely terrified poor Cobi. Because of this, Cobi started lashing out and became fear aggressive towards the couple, which ended up with him being returned for ‘bad behaviour.’ Cobi has had two homes since, and due to his original owner’s behaviour, understandably, he now prefers a female owner. He will become attached to one person and will lash out at anyone else, so he is also better suited to a one-person home. Cobi loves to play fetch with tennis balls and will play for hours. He is very clever and is good at working out enrichment toys; he specifically loves liver treats and cut-up dog sausages put in a snuffle mat, where he can spend ages working out how to get every crumb out. He can be very affectionate on his own terms, but he will warn you when he has had enough. Due to having developed behavioural issues, Cobi has a bite history, so he will need an experienced and understanding owner. Cobi can be fearful of loud noises, specifically thunderstorms and fireworks. He will become very stressed, pant, and try to hide behind his bed and under blankets. He is best left with a loud radio to drown out the noise and to be left alone, as he becomes fearful and lashes out, probably remembering being forced to go out in them in his first home. Cobi, in the right home, would make a very loyal, loving pet. Please ask staff for more information about Cobi. Gender/Age: Female 4yrsBreed: GreyhoundColour: BlackLocation: Edenbridge Dewey is a very happy girl! She absolutely loves to be around people and is always wagging her tail when she sees you. She is an ex-racer so cannot be homed with cats, small furry animals and small dogs, especially fluffy ones. She has found her love of toys since being at last chance and will throw them around to herself. She will need a safe and secure garden for her to do zoomies in! Gender/Age: male 1yr 8mthsBreed: Doberman XColour: Black & tanLocation: New Romney Rocco 2 is a huge boy with a massive heart. He originally came from the Welsh pound with no history so he cannot be rehomed with kids. He was adopted and received a lot of training in his new home however it didn’t work out for him as he has a high prey drive. Rocco will need a nice secure garden with a high fence and cannot live with cats or small animals. He did previously live with another dog who he can play with. Gender/Age: Male 7yrsBreed: BulldogColour: Tan and whiteLocation: Edenbridge Buster is a typically stubborn bulldog. He loves nothing more his big comfy bed, getting under the covers and lots of treats. He can be reluctant to walk in an any adverse weather but likes a stroll at his own pace wherever he wants to go. Buster is a nosey dog and loves coming through our office to sniff new smells and helping to feed the office fish. He will often steal staffs leads and carry his bowl to his bed where Buster can become protective over this and any long-lasting treats. He loves a butt scratch and will roll in long grass for you to scratch his tummy and can be quite affectionate on his own terms. Buster is not short on character but will need an experienced owner. He must go to a male one to one home as Buster loves men. He does not like people coming in to his home so will need to be kept separate. Buster needs a very understanding owner who will respect his boundaries and give him the time and space he needs. Please contact Edenbridge for more information. Gender/Age: Female 4yrsBreed: Pocket Bully Colour: FawnLocation: Edenbridge Mary is a lovely girl who needs an understanding owner. If she loves you, she adores you, and you become her world. She lives with one of the staff members a few times a week, and she loves nothing more than having a cuddle on the sofa and snuggling up in bed during the night. Mary is also obsessed with her food and will give a little song to try and get what she wants. However, while Mary loves you, this means she gets very protective of her people and can become aggressive when strangers approach. So for this, she needs a patient and understanding owner. She now knows ‘sit’ and ‘paw’; however, she gets overexcited for the treat, so she jumps up to give you both paws instead. She can be a tiny bulldozer and charges about when she is having her zoomies. Mary would make a fantastic companion to the right owner and would make you laugh on a daily basis. We do not think that Mary has had any training or socializing, so this does mean she needs to be muzzled and mixed with other dogs slowly. Adult Home only! Dogs – No Cats – No Gender/Age: Male 5yrsBreed: FrenchieColour: Black & tanLocation: Edenbridge Bill is a grumpy chap at times who is set in his own ways. Despite only being 5 he acts like an old boy refusing to go on walks and wanting to sit all day in the sun. Bill absolutely loves his long red dog toy and occasionally you will walk past his kennel and see him just holding it in his mouth showing it off to the world. As cute and friendly as Bill looks, he is not a cuddly dog and couldn’t think of anything worse than being a lap dog. He would much rather get comfy and snug on the bed on the floor. He loves his own space and feels safe having an area that is just for him. Bill would love a home with someone who is happy to have him plod about in their garden and occasionally come for some attention. When Bill does want a fuss, his all time favourite is a butt scratch. He goes mad for this and loses his mind when he gets this. He will even try scratch his back on cars, bushes etc. Bill would need an adult only home ideally with 1 person or a couple who can respect his space with absolutely no children visiting. Bill is not a fan of any other animals he will avoid them when out but is not keen on having them approach him. Dogs - No Cats - No ADULT HOME Gender/Age: Female 2yrsBreed: Staffie CrossColour: BrindleLocation: Edenbridge Maple has sadly came back to Last Chance for rehoming as the previous owners did not feel they could cope or deal with Maple’s needs. Maple is a large girl with a lot of energy and strength behind her. She loves to play with her toys however this can cause her to get overstimulated and starts to become rough with her people instead of her toys. So would need a confident owner who will be able to calm her down when she gets herself in this state of mind. Maple does walk well on the lead but she can be strong especially as she does have a high prey drive and will chase anything that moves including rubbish blowing in the wind so would need a strong owner and someone to further training to help her overcome this or to learn how to ignore all distractions on walk. Maple is a very sweet natured girl who is willing to learn and loves having a cuddle. Maple thinks she is a lap dog and loves sitting on your lap having her ears rubbed. She develops strong bonds with her people but especially to females in the home. Maple is good with other dogs depending on how they react and present themself to her first. Maple does have temper tantrums so will need an owner to help with this. Maple is looking to be the only pet in a home with especially no cats visiting from neighbouring gardens. Maple must go to an adult only home. Maple would benefit from a strong active home who has the time and patience to continue her training Gender/Age: Male 4 yrsBreed: LurcherColour: BrindleLocation: Edenbridge Ralphie originally came into us after Covid as his owners thought they were getting a labrador puppy. He was being kept in a flat without a garden and had had no socialising with people. Ralphie is brilliant with other dogs and has had many friends here over the years, so he would love to have a friend in the home or a regular walking companion. When Ralphie first came into us he would get very frustrated and he would show this in mouthing and occasionally snapping, he has mostly grown out of this but needs a very kind owner to understand his behaviour and help with his training with this. Ralphie loves to run around with other dogs but also loves to chase a tennis ball so would need a secure garden where he could play freely. Ralphie does love a gentle fuss, especially a butt scratch, however he does have boundaries and will let you know when he has had enough. Ralphie loves his bed and often sleeps with all 4 legs in the air, so would love a big comfy bed in the sun to lounge in. Ralphie is muzzled trained and is also housetrained here in the kennels. Ralphie needs an experienced adult only home with no cats or small furries. Gender/Age: Male 8yrsBreed: Min PinColour: TanLocation: Edenbridge Ralph is a loving and loyal boy who will follow you everywhere! He absolutely loves his squeaky toys and playing with balls—he’ll toss them around and pounce on them with excitement. Ralph loves affection on his terms and he’ll come and sit on your lap and be involved in whatever you’re doing. His happiest moments are when he’s curled up next to you sleeping. Ralph is a big baby at heart. He loves his walks and then settling down for a nap on the sofa. Originally rescued as a 16-week-old street puppy from Cyprus, Ralph has developed trust issues with new people. He can be quite vocal when meeting strangers and will snap if they get too close too soon. Ralph’s ideal home would be a quiet household with patient, understanding owners who can take the time to earn his trust and understand his little quirks. He does not do well with visitors, so a home with minimal guests would be best. Ralph would love to be in a home where he can enjoy his twilight years. Adult home only/no visiting children. No other pets. She is incredibly smart and knows several tricks such as sit, down and paw. She is full of life and loves nothing better than chasing a ball and playing in water. She can get a little over excited and mouthy at times, but can be distracted with a ball, she will need lots of exercise and training to help with this. She is not keen on other dogs and will bark at those she sees on walks; she will need confidence building and socialising to help with this. Her ideal home would be an active, adult only home with no other pets and lots of tennis balls. Gender/Age: Female 2yrBreed: English Bull Terrier Colour: Tri ColourLocation: Edenbridge Penelope sadly came to Last Chance as an unclaimed stray. Smelly and covered in fleas Penelope had obviously come from an unloved place. We believed whoever had her before coming to Last Chance had tried to use her as a guard dog/ status dog due to her breed however upon spending time with Penelope it’s clear to see she would of been useless at this as she is a happy friendly girl who loves everyone she meets which could of resulting in her being thrown out like rubbish. Penelope has had little to no socialisation and training. She has absolutely no manners and thinks the words no, wait, stay mean yes let’s go play! Penelope loves being around people and will get frustrated when she knows you are about to leave her however a few games of fetch has her calmed down. Penelope absolutely loves toys and loves finding new ones to take back to her with her. Sadly due to having no socialising Penelope is not good with other dogs we are hopeful that in time with the correct training she would eventually play well with dogs as we think she would enjoy this however we can not say for certain as we don’t know what happened during her puppy years. Penelope would love an active adult only home with no children, dogs or cats. As she has so much energy to burn and would need someone who can put in the time for her. Gender/Age: Male 4yrsBreed: Jack Russell Terrier xColour: Black & tanLocation: New Romney Ian may look like a small terrier but oh boy can he bounce!!! He has very nearly cleared a 5ft fence, so the garden needs to be super secure! Ian loves making new doggie friends and has a few that he loves walking with on lead. Unfortunately Ian is not the best at making friends with people, he feels more comfortable around women and will need maybe a meet or two before he’s jumping up for cuddles. Men are a different story and he is so scared of men so we are looking for an female adult only home with limited visiting men. Gender/Age: Male 6yrsBreed: SharpeiColour: TanLocation: Edenbridge Don’t let Simon’s grumpy face fool you he is a very happy boy who loves nothing more than investigating smells on his walks by smooshing his chops into everything. He is housetrained and loves a big comfy bed to lounge in the sun in or a bed by the window so he can be nosy all day. He can be vocal with some dogs so would benefit from gentle socialising in time and would need to be the only pet in the home. He is not good with cats or any other small animals. He will randomly play with toys and will chase a football a few times before getting distracted by a smell that he has to wee on. Simon does have some of the Sharpei quirks and can be an independent dog at times, wanting affection on his own terms, so would need an owner to understand the characteristics of his breed. Adult only home. Gender/Age: Females 8 yrsBreed: FrenchiesColour: Dark BrindleLocation: Edenbridge Pinky and perky or the pigs as we all call them are not short of character! They will make you laugh everyday with their cheekiness and toddler like personality. They both love to play and would choose toys over treats. Perky loves to find the biggest cuddly toy she can and carry it around with her before ripping it up, Pinky loves all kinds of balls and will take herself off to her bed to chew on it. They both love attention and will come and sit on you for affection, perky will sit facing you breathing in your face whilst pinky will roll over for a belly scratch. Unfortunately due to not being socialised properly they take some time to get to know new people. Pinky more so than perky but once you’re in their club they are your best friends and will allow their owners to do anything with them. They can be vocal with dogs so would need to be the only dogs in the home. They cannot be homed with children, cats or any small animals. Pinky and perky are more like twins than sisters always doing things together and often copying each others movements exactly so will not be separated and have to be homed together. Gender/Age: Female, 2yrsBreed: FrenchieColour: Seal & TanLocation: New Romney It’s been over a year since miss Olivia came into us from the Welsh pound. We had no history on her and so we’ve had to figure out her personality as we went. Olivia truly is a lovely girl and wants nothing more than having a good bum scratch and chasing leaves in the wind. Unfortunately, she has some behavioural problems which has made her difficult to rehome. Olivia will fixate on toys and food (and sometimes even her own sick) and she will guard. When she is in this mindset she cannot be reasoned with and no matter how much she loves you, in that moment nothing is more important than the object she is guarding. Due to this behaviour we are only looking for an EXPERIENCED ADULT ONLY home where she can be the only pet within the property. She cannot live with children. Gender/Age: Male, 8 yearsBreed: BeagleColour: Tri ColourLocation: Edenbridge Sadly Jake has recently become diabetic which has caused him to lose his vision, so we are desperately looking for a foster or forever home before he loses his sight completely. He will need insulin injections twice a day but he is such a good boy and waits patiently as he knows a tasty carrot is coming. Jake is one of our long termers who is very misunderstood, he has unfortunately come from a traumatic past which has caused him to bite when feeling threatened. Once Jake trusts you and knows you he is a very affectionate boy and loves a cuddle on the sofa. He is very good with other dogs socially but has to be only dog at home due to resource guarding. Jake is obsessed with food and will do anything to get hold of it so being a typical beagle he will try his very best to get what he wants. Looking for an adult home only who understands Jake’s needs. Gender/Age: Male 17 MonthsBreed: Parson Terrier Colour: Black & whiteLocation: New Romney Rocco originally came into us as he was due to be put to sleep as his owners couldn’t give him what he needs. When Rocco first came in he was extremely nervous and wouldn’t move from his bed, everything was scary and he couldn’t understand where he was, for a few weeks Rocco would shy away from people and only go to a walk when he really needed a toilet. After a while Rocco grew to like a couple of members of staff who spent lots of time with him to bring him out of his shell and he learned to trust again. Today Rocco is a different dog, he is a very happy chap who loves everyone at the centre and loves going for walks and could be out for hours. Rocco has a high prey drive so can not be rehomed with cats or small furries. Rocco loves to play with tennis balls and has recently discovered footballs, where he will try for ages to pick it up in his mouth, barking at it in frustration. Rocco has not been socialised with other dogs and can be vocal, so he must have slow gentle socialising when he is settled in the home and to be the only pet for now. Rocco can become overwhelmed easily and gets frustrated so needs an understanding owner. Gender/Age: Male 4yrsBreed: TerrierColour: Black & tanLocation: Edenbridge Rolo is a very busy boy. He loves to chase anything that moves and will do this all day. He loves his walks and stops to smell everything. He loves to get snug in his bed and he buries himself under his covers when he sleeps. Rolo is very affectionate and tries to jump on your lap for a cuddle. He loves his toys and will find his favourite and run about with it in his mouth. He is a very active boy so needs lots of exercise. Gender/Age: Female 8yrsBreed: Rottweiler Colour: Black & tanLocation: Edenbridge Kimi sadly came to us severely overweight and was nicknamed the barrel. She was struggling to walk and after further investigation it was discovered, she unfortunately has luxating patella in both her knees. Due to Kimi being energetic she jumps around in her kennel, bouncing off the walls, making the recovery post-surgery not possible, so she is kept comfortable with medication and is doing well on it. Since finding her love for walks and balls she has managed to shed the weight but is still in need of shedding those last few kilos. Kimi is absolutely obsessed with her toys and mainly balls. You will always find her with a ball in her mouth, whether she is out on a walk or laying in her bed she will have a toy. She treats it as a comfort blanket and wherever she goes, a toy will go with her. Kimi is great with the people she knows however it can take time to build up trust with her. Kimi does enjoy a fuss and some attention but only on her terms and only for a short period. Kimi is happiest being near and with you rather than on you like a lap dog. Kimi likes her own space, but likes to know you are around, so would prefer to sit in her bed surrounded by her toys with you in her eyesight so she knows she is not alone. One of Kimi’s rare features which we all love, if she allows you to sneak a glance is her ‘pig skin pads on her paws. Kimi is looking for an experienced adult only home with no other pets. Kimi needs an owner who will give her the time and patience she will need to earn your trust and to settle in to a home environment. Gender/Age: Female 6yrsBreed: RottieColour: Black & tanLocation: New Romney Meet Roxy the Rottie! This big bundle of love makes friends with everyone she meets and loves nothing more than having a cuddle (that always leads to a good belly rub). Most of the time Roxy is great on the lead but sometimes can pull when she gets excited and wants to say hi to someone, so we are looking for someone who is strong enough to handle her. We are looking for someone who has an active lifestyle who will help her loose some weight and do some basic and gentle training with her. Roxy has met a few dogs through fences and has been ok with most of them, so she potentially could live with a calm male dog. As we don’t have a history for Roxy, she cannot live with young children. Gender/Age: Male 1-2 yearsBreed: German ShepherdColour: Black & tanLocation: New Romney Walnut came to us from the Welsh pound, he was previously being kept outside often without food or shelter. When walnut first came to us he was stick thin and continuously had an upset stomach due to poor diet and malnutrition, He is now on a good diet and his issues are under control. When he first came in to us, he was also very fearful of men and would bark in fear, due to gentle socialising with some very kind and gentle volunteers he is now improving with this. Walnut is very eager to learn and is responding well to treat based training. After the initial excitement of being taken on a walk he calms down and walks at a leisurely pace. Walnut is starting to understand what affection is and now appreciates a cuddle and a gentle brush. He needs socialising with other dogs as he has absolutely no manners and is currently very boisterous with them, therefore ideally, he needs to be the only pet in the home or to go with an established dog of same size and energy and a knowledgeable owner. Walnut loves toys as he has probably never had any of his own previously, he will often find them out and about and take them back to his bed. Adult only home, no cats or small animals. Wicky always gets VERY excited to go on his walks and jumps around in circles until he is out walking, where he then walks to heel on the lead unless he sees something small and furry. He is muzzled trained and we would recommend him wearing this around smaller dogs as he has only ever been around dogs of his size. Wicky is always full of beans and is not short on character, he loves everyone he meets and is a firm volunteer favourite here always wagging his tail which whips everyone in the legs. He also loves his toys, the squeakier the better, he will play with himself in his kennel until he has tired himself out where he would love a big comfy bed to lounge in the sun in. Gender/Age: Male 2-3yrsBreed: Pocket bully Colour: Tri ColourLocation: Edenbridge Mitch came to us from the Welsh pound due to a decline in his owners health. Mitch was a very timid boy at first and would grumble whilst running away from you in his kennel due to fear. He has now come out of his shell and he has found his love in toys. His favourite at the minute are balls! He will play all day, not that the toys last that long. Mitch has been fearful of other dogs whilst being with us so will need very slow socialising with other dogs and to be the only pet in the home for now. As Mitch can be fearful of the world we are suggesting an adult only home to help him navigate a new home life, with patient and understanding owners who can give him space and time to settle without pushing his boundaries. Mitch loves his walks but can be stubborn at times wanting to get back so he can continue playing. Gender/Age: Male, 5yrsBreed: GreyhoundColour: TanLocation: New Romney Poor Charlie has been here nearly 2 years now and he’s still patiently waiting for his new owners! Charlie is a big boy who is generally scared of everything new to him so he will need someone who is super patient and understanding to help show him that the world is not so scary after all. Once Charlie has built up a relationship with someone (with the help of cocktail sausages) he seems like a completely different dog. During his stay with us Charlie has made many friends with female greyhounds so he could potentially live with a calm female. As Charlie is incredibly nervous, his potential owners will need to visit multiple times so that he can get used to them. As Charlie is an ex-racer, he cannot live with cats or small animals. If you think you might be able to offer this, please pop in to our New Romney centre, during opening hours, to meet Charlie or phone 01797 366620 to discuss further. Gunner is a typical Spaniel who loves to play ball and can play for hours. He will always find a ball when on walks and when playing fetch he will always bring the ball to your feet. Even though Gunner is a happy chap and is always wagging his tail, he is not keen on being over-fussed and likes his own space. Gender/Age: Female 9 years oldBreed: HuskyColour: Choc & creamLocation: Edenbridge Cleo came into us as her owners have no time for her anymore. Cleo is finding being back in the kennel environment hard, but is adjusting slowly. Cleo is a typical husky and loves to be outside no matter what the weather. She loves to play with new toys especially squeaky stuffed toys and rope toys. Cleo is very reactive to other dogs and is advised to walk with a muzzle, which she wears well, and must go to a pet free house with an owner who is understanding of this behaviour. Experience with the breed is preferred as Cleo can be husky vocal when she wants something. Cleo needs a very understanding and patient adult only home, with owners who have the knowledge and time to spend helping her with her difficulties. Poor Chas has been here nearly a year now and no one has come in for him! We are desperate to find this lovely boy a home, he’s really well behaved and will do anything for a biscuit or two. He has been amazing with all of our volunteers and loves saying hi to everyone that walks in his direction. As Chas is an ex-racer he cannot live with cats or small animals. Visit him Wed-Sun 11am-3pm at our New Romney Centre. Hope to see you soon. Gender/Age: Male 4yrsBreed: GreyhoundColour: BlackLocation: Edenbridge Agassi is an ex-racing greyhound and may never have lived in a home environment. He is starting to enjoy retirement and has recently realised how much fun squeaky/cuddly toys are and loves to chuck them around his kennel to himself and carry them off to his bed to chew on. Agassi is a funny boy when it comes to food and unlike most greyhounds he is very particular about what he eats, he will lick the meat off and spit out the biscuits he doesn’t like the taste of. Now he realises what attention is, he is loving a fuss and will walk into you with his head and wait for a stroke. Agassi is good around other dogs his size but no small animals or fluff dogs due to his prey drive. Agassi is looking for a loving retirement home with someone who can give him the time and love he deserves. Gender/Age: Male 3yrsBreed: GreyhoundColour: Light BrindleLocation: Edenbridge Hammer is a happy chap, he loves laying on a comfy bed in the sun and watching the world go by. He loves to have a cuddle and will stop mid walk for a lean and some affection. Hammer has had a reoccurring corn that had stopped him from wanting to go for walks at the time and it has taken a while for us to encourage him to walk now that the corn has been removed and it has healed. He loves a squeaky toy and will chuck it around his kennel often laying on his side and using his feet to help throw it around, then diving on it again. Hammer is an ex-racer and loves to chase wildlife so we would recommend him being walked on a muzzle. He is used to being around dogs his size but can not be homed with small fluffy dogs, cats or small animals. Hammer loves his food and will let you know if you are late feeding him. He has never lived in a home environment before so will need a kind loving owner to show him what it is to be a pet. Gender/Age: Male 9yrsBreed: Greyhound x SalukiColour: TanLocation: New Romney Hello I am Tito. I am a very loving dog, with the people I trust. I arrived at the New Romney rescue many years ago from a Welsh pound, no one knows my early previous history, but from my behaviour and the marks on my body, my friends at Last chance know I wasn’t treated very nicely. Sometimes I can get anxious and see hands as a threat, I also struggle being out of my routine. One staff member says she is blessed to have my trust, I snuggle up for a fuss, offer her cuddles, demand a tummy tickle (poking my feet in her face) and enjoy her company on walks and in my kennel, but I admit, I do get jealous if anyone else is around us - even when I like the other people! I do get nervous around new people and situations, which sometimes means I can be a bit snappy. I am told I’m handsome and also super fit for my age, I can jump onto the picnic tables in our grounds in just one leap. I will run around the grounds chasing the wild rabbits and squirrels, but birds are my real nemesis, if only I could climb trees!!! I also love sunbathing on the grass and playing catch with my big ball, but I prefer the right company over treats and games and don’t like to be left on my own. I am definitely not keen on walks in the rain or the cold! Due to my past experiences (and from the information my friends at Last Chance have gathered on my previous adoptions), I’m told I need a very special and experienced, single, adult only home, with no other animals, I may prefer a female human. Once I form a strong bond with you and feel safe, I will become your best friend, but this also means I will not want to share you, I have waited so long for you I want you all to myself!! I need a quiet home, with a secure garden, very rare visitors and definitely no children visiting! It would be best if you have a very structured routine that I could fit in to. I will need multiple visits from any potential adopter, so we can get used to each other. If you think I could be your best friend please speak to the staff at New Romney Tel: 01797 366620, or pop in to the centre during our opening times: Wed-Sun 11am-3pm. I have been at New Romney for a very long time, please consider me. Love Tito x Gender/Age: Female 7yrsBreed: GreyhoundLocation: New Romney Lexi is a very sweet, gentle girl who loves a fuss. Sadly, Lexi is epileptic so is on ongoing medication. She would love a nice calm home where she get lots of love and attention. She is Okay with other dogs, but as with most sight Hounds, no cats or small animals. Gender/Age: Male 5yrsBreed: Jack Russell Terrier xColour: Black & whiteLocation: Edenbridge Mallow is a very energetic dog. He needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation. He can be very vocal in the house and on walks so needs a rural home with little distractions. Once he is calm, he can be very cuddly on the sofa and playful. He loves to play with toys, especially balls, the squeakier the better!! He had a very high prey drive so we advise keeping him on the lead. He must be the only dog with no other animals in the home. He needs an adult only home with someone used to bouncy dogs. Mallow will make a wonderful companion to someone who has the time and patience to put into his training and care. Gender/Age: Male 10yearsBreed: Scottie/Carne X Colour: BlackLocation: Edenbridge Danny Boy is a lovely boy once he knows you, he has to have a female owner on a one to one basis, this is all due to him being mistreated. Unfortunately this poor sad little lad, through no fault of his own was kicked and abused in his previous home, living day after day in constant fear, hiding and cowling away from his owner.
